Resolutions.

So I've decided to start thinking about my 2012 new years resolutions..
This is what I have so far.

1. Take a pic a day log it. I love taking pictures and can't seem to keep a journal so we'll see how this goes!

2. Run a race each month. Cant wait
     First up. Rockn'Roll Phoenix Jan 15!

3. Beat my PR for SDRnR. Ran it in 2:20 last year.. #ithinkican #13.1

4. Travel. Duh, Always!

5. Go to a music festival.

6. Celebrate a holiday in another city.

Anything else??? Hmmmm

Viva Las Vegas!

I was recently in the city of sin this last weekend running my second Rock n' Roll race EVER! My resolution for 2011 was to run my first half marathon which took place this past summer consisting of the Rock n' Roll San Diego, which i did and loved! Almost immediately after the RnRSD race I signed up for the Las Vegas race which took place this past December 4th on the Las Vegas strip! The race was held at 5pm and was the worlds largest night run with over 40,000 participants. It was very crowded but amazing at the same time. I'm so proud to not only have completed my resolution this year, but to have been able to run in not one but two events! I want to congratulate my friends Angela, Ashley, Santos, Tyler and Rodney on also running the race! I had a blast with you all, pre and post race and can't wait for the next one! #RnRPheonix?? We'll see!

Rock n Roll Las Vegas

I can't believe it's already been six months sine my first half marathon! Now it's time to gear up for the my second Rock n Roll race this year, and where better to have it than Vegas! I am so excited to run this Sunday especially since so many of my friends are either doing it or are going to be in town that weekend!
Oh, and did I mention that it takes place on the strip... At night! Soo cool! I can't wait!
I wanna wish my fellow runners Ash, Ty, Sant, Rod, and Ang all good luck and I can't wait to see you at the finish line!!!

Hunger Games

If you haven't heard about this series then you must be living under a rock! It's the hottest thing since twilight! (at least that's what they say, never got into twilight myself) Any-who this series is a great little read.  So good in fact that they are working on the first movie of the three book series to premiere sometime next year.  I can't wait.  The books are verrrry easy reads so i suggest you pick one up and check them out if you ever have some free time!

Blackout 2011

So Thursday afternoon at about 3:30pm Pacific all of San Diego county lost its power including parts of Arizona, Mexico, and Orange County.  I was at work so we waited around for an hour or so until we got news that this would most likely go into the night.  The roads were chaotic and traffic was insane. My 15 min drive home turned into an hour and a half drive.  Luckily I has plenty of fuel, others weren't so lucky.  My friends had invited me over to hang out during the blackout, at first I was just going to stay home but once there it got boring quick. So I headed over where we had what people are now calling a "blackout party" while there we ate, played games and drank like the world was ending.  It was so nice to actually interact with everyone and not be distracted by electronics.  I heard stories from others meeting their neighbors for the first time and having cookouts and actually getting to know people.  Maybe this should happen more often? Anywho, it was quite the eventful evening and I night I wont soon forget!

Nine Words Women Use

6. THAT’S OKAY: This is one of the most dangerous statements a
woman can make to a man. That’s okay means she wants to think long and
hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. THANKS: A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just
say you’re welcome. (I want to add in a clause here, this is true
unless she says ‘Thanks a lot’ - that is PURE sarcasm and she is not
thanking you at all. DO NOT say ‘you’re welcome’, that will bring on a
‘whatever’)

8. WHATEVER: Is a woman’s way of saying “GO TO HELL”.

9. DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT, I GOT IT: Another dangerous statement.
This means this is something that a woman has told a man to do several
times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man
asking ‘What’s wrong?’ For the woman’s response refer to # 3.

Soooo. I was at IKEA a few weeks ago just browsing when I came across a few goodies that I thought I could turn into a jewelry holder I had seen on UrbanOutfitters.com (pictured below)

SUPER CUTE RIGHT??

So Whilst at IKEA I came across a little white basket that I think was meant to be used in a bano but not 100% about that.  Anyway, that little cage inspired me to create my own jewelry holder.

So I purchased the basket, the vase, and the flowers all for under $10! like $8.50 total if i can remember correctly..

Below the only tools I needed. Phillips screw driver and 2 screws.

 Assembly took less than 5 min!

I used my handy dandy Iphone level to get it juuust right!

 The finished product below!! 

Now I have a place for my earrings 

and bracelets!!
